Nowadays with the fast development of science and technology, many countries pay more attention to the tertiary industry, or the services industry, to make economically vibrant, leaving the secondary industry, or the real business of manufacturing, to others. Manufacturing industry failing to get obsession, instead, the book Makers: The New Industrial Revolution puts forward that the manufacturing business gets a good opportunity of development because of the development of advanced technologies. The book is written by Chris Anderson. Since its publication, the book obtains much attention and large reactions from all kinds of people, and the manufacturing industry thus coms into people’s eyes again. After reading the book, I learnt a lot and understood the large influence of technology on the industry. Here I will share three ideas learnt from the book to others.
The next new industrial revolution will come soon when the Web generation turns to the real world. The books tells that “Here’s the history of two decades of innovation in two sentences: The past ten years have been about discovering new ways to create, invent and work together on the Web. The next ten years will be about applying those lessons to the real world.” Now we are situated in the period of the next ten years, that is, the new industrial revolution comes soon and the manufacturing industry will thus acquire a new life to develop. Or we can say it is the right time for Maker Movement to arrive. At that time when the new industrial revolution comes, every manufacturing business goes into high-tech electronics.
The organization of manufacturing business will meet a new page when the new industrial revolution comes. Just as what the book says, “To make things a new way, you need to make companies a new way, too”, many manufacturing companies or factories should reform themselves first to adapt to the new era better. The advanced technologies not only change ways of production but also alter people’s life and way of information transmission. There must be many old systems in many organizations, especially in the manufacturing business, that cannot follow the new era any more and thus should be cancelled or improved. 
If manufacturing business takes the era bus of Cloud, the world would not be the same any longer. As is known to us, Today is a knowledge-economy or information-economy or even experience economy society, where thousands of new advanced technologies appear in just one day. The technology of Cloud, especially, is a great product of high-tech, which can make staff work anywhere at the same time conveniently. If the factory went in the Cloud or online, “nothing would be the same again.” However, this trend is unavoidable. The new industrial revolution, resulting from the high-tech development, absorbs the Cloud technology into its new blood definitely to have better improvement. 
In summary, the quick development of advanced technologies not only change and enrich people’s life, but also transform and reform ways of production. With people’s more attention to the services industry, the manufacturing business gradually loses obsession seemly. However, the book Makers: The New Industrial Revolution provides a new perspective of the new advanced technologies’ role in manufacturing business. I, also, learn that the advanced technologies bring a new life of new industrial revolution to manufacturing business instead of destroying, the reformation of organization and the new blood absorbed from the application of Cloud technology, all of which have profound influence on the manufacturing industry to a large extent.
