Little Italy And Chinatown There are many things that go into the make up of a neighborhood. A detailed census report is taken every ten years. The census takes of poll of things like income, race, sex, age, and even the way people commute to work. All these things can give a person a better view of how the neighborhood runs and who lives in it. The two neighborhoods in New York City we concentrated on were the Hunter neighborhood and Little Italy. Although we wanted to concentrate just on Little Italy it was much too small (it only took up three city blocks) and so we also had to incorporate Chinatown as well. This wasn?t too large a problem because both neighborhoods are ethnically based, Little Italy with its native colors and Chinatown with its native language and culture. New York City is divided into different areas and forms neighborhoods according to race, wealth, religion, and so on.
