There is something inside, that they can’t get to, that they can’t touch. Just as pirates dream of finding gold and Bob Dylan fans dream of hearing lost songs, I have great enthusiasm in media. With the development of Internet, the network resources become more diversified and intelligent and the forms of media have their unique characteristics and advantages: personalization, interaction and universal popularization, which make ponder our future existence. And we shall give full play to the features and advantages of such emerging media as Internet and mobile phones to actively carry out all walks of work. After years’ baptism, I want to grow into a more mature media worker with abundant working experience and diligent spirit and try my best to take full advantage of media to allow the readers to become a participant, choosing his or her own path through the information presented. Therefore, I am determined to transfer to your program in UW Tacoma, where focuses on strengthening the cultivation of students’ qualities and welcomes students with diverse cultures and backgrounds. Indulging my habitual preference for producing media field from my middle school days in Konan Girls middle school, where my raw passion for media was greatly stimulated. I loved watch TV, news and films and even was interested in searching the Internet. With use of Yahoo! Japan, Google and MSN, I grasped a large number of information and relevant data, but the questions such as how they were created and how the mass media and information dissemination approaches were used during the communication process, were always puzzled me. With the guidance of my parents, I read many books to research the media and communication sectors. Especially some Japan media, such as NHK, Nikkei, NEWSWEEK Japan, all attracted my attentions. From that time, I sincerely hope that one day, I would gain an opportunity to engage in related work with full help of PC to establish a more solid foundation for Japanese media development, construct the platform for Japanese television industrialization and pioneer new academic perspective to promote its development. This dogged strength pushes me to go to US to study advanced media theories and production methods. I always considered the media in the US fully developed and over there I could catch up the latest development of modern media.

Therefore, in Sep. 2012, I tightly clutched my airline ticket, dragged my bags and travelled across the oceans to come to Green River College, where I spent more than 3 years learning media and art, which not only laid a solid academic foundation for learning other erudite and sophisticated subjects in my undergraduate process, but also cultivated my commercial awareness and filled up my business gaps, precisely catering for the trend of commercialization of media industry. In this big “melting pot”, on one hand, I was so fascinated by its prosperous economy, flourishing cultural and enlightened freedom and was so enjoyable to the fruit of media development; on the other hand, I also suffered the cultural shock and study pressure. For example, in the course of Art 120, in order to assist my study, the professor asked me to master some illustration software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Firework, but I didn’t learn them before. So I often shuttled between dormitory and library to look into a great amount of information and often stayed up to finish the extra work. Meanwhile, as the Japanese, my English was not so fluent, which made me so frustrated. It was a tough time. With my unremitting efforts and persistence in learning and teachers’ help, I gradually adapted myself into this new environment and prepared well for my future challenges. Besides, given my passion towards the media production field, I made full use of my spare time to devote myself in the library to search for the academic documents, authoritative media theories, as well as the latest west media industry system. In order to enhance my communication and cooperation ability and teamwork skills, I even participated in a series of activities, such as Welcome Party, New Year Gala, Quiz and so on, which won great affirmations from my teachers to my schoolmates.
